Does Solar IOT work with any solar inverter?
Currently Solar IOT integrates directly with SunSynk inverters via the official SunSynk API. Support for additional inverter brands is on the roadmap.
What smart devices can I control?
Any device connected through SmartThings, IFTTT, Tuya, Sinric Pro, or Home Assistant. This includes smart plugs, relays, pool pumps, geysers, miners, and more.
How often does it check my solar output?
By default it polls every 1 minute. You can adjust this — though more frequent polling means faster reactions to changing solar conditions.
Do I need technical skills to set it up?
No. The setup wizard walks you through connecting your inverter and smart devices step by step. Most users are up and running in under 5 minutes.
What happens when my solar drops at night?
When your solar output falls below your configured "off threshold", Solar IOT automatically switches off the device — protecting you from unintentionally drawing grid power for high-load devices.
Can I run multiple devices on different schedules?
Yes. You can create multiple automation jobs, each with its own device, power thresholds, time windows and integration settings.
Is my data secure?
Yes. Your SunSynk credentials are stored encrypted, OAuth tokens are used for device integrations (no plain-text passwords), and all communication is over HTTPS. Payments are handled by Stripe — we never touch your card details.
