SunSynk — Finding Your Credentials & Plant ID

Log in to your SunSynk portal at sunsynk.net using your email and password.

Click on your plant/site from the overview screen.

Look at the URL in your browser address bar. It will contain your Plant ID — a numeric value, e.g. 316541 in .../plant/316541/.... Copy that number.

In the job form, enter the same email and password you use to log in to the SunSynk portal, plus the Plant ID you just copied.

IFTTT Webhooks

ℹ️ IFTTT is the most universal method — it works with any smart plug that has an IFTTT integration (Kasa, TP-Link, Wemo, Tuya, Govee, etc.). Requires a free IFTTT account.

Create a free account at ifttt.com if you don’t already have one.

Go to your IFTTT profile → My Services → search for Webhooks → Documentation. You’ll see your unique key. Copy it.

Create an Applet for turning the miner ON:
IF → Webhooks “Receive a web request” → event name: miner_on
THEN → your smart plug service → “Turn on”

Create a second Applet for turning it OFF:
IF → Webhooks → event name: miner_off
THEN → your smart plug service → “Turn off”

Paste your webhook key into the job form. The event names (miner_on / miner_off) must match exactly what you used in your Applets.

SmartThings

ℹ️ Works with Samsung SmartThings-compatible plugs and switches (SmartThings plugs, Z-Wave, Zigbee devices added via SmartThings hub).

Make sure your smart plug is already added to the SmartThings app and working.

Choose SmartThings as your plug service in the job form.

Click Connect SmartThings, sign in, and approve access.

Click Fetch Devices and select your smart plug from the dropdown.

Save the job. The app keeps your SmartThings connection active in the background.

If Connect fails, your app owner may still be completing SmartThings setup. Please contact support.

SinricPro (Google Home / Alexa)

ℹ️ SinricPro creates a virtual switch in Google Home or Alexa. You set up a routine: “when virtual switch turns on → turn on your physical plug”. Works with any Google Home or Alexa plug.

Create a free account at sinric.pro.

In the SinricPro portal, click Devices → Add Device → choose Smart Plug (or Switch). Name it e.g. “Miner Switch” and save.

Google Home: tap + → Set up device → Works with Google → search SinricPro → link account. Your virtual switch will appear as a device.

Create two Google Home Routines:
• Starter: Miner Switch turns on → Action: Turn on [physical plug]
• Starter: Miner Switch turns off → Action: Turn off [physical plug]

In the job form, enter your sinric.pro email and password, click Fetch to load devices, and select your virtual switch.

Home Assistant

ℹ️ Home Assistant can control everything in your smart home — Zigbee, Z-Wave, Wi-Fi plugs, Google Home, Alexa-linked devices, and more. Requires Home Assistant reachable on your network.

Note your Home Assistant URL, e.g. http://homeassistant.local:8123 or http://192.168.1.100:8123.

In HA, click your profile icon (bottom-left) → scroll to Long-Lived Access Tokens → click Create Token. Name it “Solar IOT” and click OK.

Copy the token immediately — it is shown only once! Paste it into the Access Token field in the job form.

Enter your HA URL and click Fetch to load all switch/light/input_boolean entities. Select the plug or switch to control.

If the Solar IOT server runs on a different machine, ensure it can reach the HA URL. For remote access, consider Nabu Casa.

Q

Why isn’t my miner turning on even though I have solar?
Check the condition chips on the dashboard card — red chips show which conditions are currently failing. All configured conditions must be met at the same time.

Q

Battery % and Load show “—”
These come from the SunSynk flow API. If solar watts work but these don’t, confirm your Plant ID is correct. Some inverter models may not report all fields via the API.

Q

How do I run this 24/7 on a server or Raspberry Pi?
Install Node.js, copy the project, run npm install, then use PM2: npm install -g pm2 → pm2 start src/index.js --name solar-iot → pm2 save.

Can I add more users?
Edit users.json in the project root. Add entries as "email": {"passwordMd5": "HASH"}. Use an online MD5 generator to hash the password (not recommended for production; consider upgrading to bcrypt).

What does the ▶ Now button do?
Immediately triggers one poll cycle for that job without waiting for the next scheduled interval. Useful for testing your configuration after making changes.

Q

What is “dead-band” in the log?
Dead-band means neither the ON nor the OFF conditions were fully met, so the miner stays in its current state. This prevents rapid on/off switching when solar is fluctuating near a threshold.
